His Eminence Archbishop Mor Clemis in reception of His Excellency Mikael Mouradian the New Bishop of the Armenian Catholic Eparchy of US and Canada

On Saturday, December 17, 2011 His Eminence was to participate in the reception of the new ordained bishop for the Armenian Catholic Eparchy of the Lady of Nareg in United States of America and Canada.

After short prayers in the church, His Excellency welcomed the archbishops, priests and representatives of the various churches who partook in the ceremony. Following the prayers all attendees were invited to a reception which was prepared by the hosting church.

Bishop Mouradian who succeeded resigned Bishop Manuel Batakian, of the same eparchy, was born in Beirut, Lebanon, on July 5th, 1961, and was ordained a priest in 1987, and bishop on May 20th of this year.

The Eparchy of Our Lady of Nareg of the Armenians which is based in New York, includes 3000 Catholics in Canada and two parishes, Toronto and Montreal, three priests and two permanent deacons.

The Western Archdiocese of the Syriac Orthodox Church of Antioch, providing spiritual guidance and leadership to the Syriac Orthodox community, is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit, tax-exempt organization comprised of 10 churches and parishes in 17 western states. It was established in 1952 as the Archdiocese of the Syrian Orthodox Church encompassing the entire United States and Canada. In November 1995 by the Holy Synod, the Western Archdiocese was formed to exclusively serve the 17 states of the western half United States.
