 The Local Monthly Clergy Meeting of the Western Archdiocese
On Tuesday, April 26th the Western Archdiocese held its local Clergy Monthly Meeting at St. George Church, San Fernando.
His Eminence Archbishop Mor Clemis Eugene Kaplan presided over the meeting and the attending clergy were: Very Rev. Fr. Abdulahad Shara (St. Ephraim, Burbank), very Rev. Raban Ephram Tahhan (St. John, Las Vegas), Rev. Fr. George Touma (St. Mary, Orange), Rev. Fr. Louis Yacoub (St. Ephraim, Burbank), Rev. Fr. Yusuf Kallo (St. Peter, San Gabriel), Rev. Fr. Mtanous Askar (St. Julian, High Desert), Rev. Fr. Peter Rouboz (St. George, San Fernando), Rev. Fr. John Saif (St. Elias, San Bernardino), and Rev. Fr. Fadi Yousif (St. Paul, El Cajon, San Diego).
The Clergy meeting began with an opening prayer and a reading from the epistle of St. Paul to the Colossians Ch. 3: 1-18.
After the reading His Eminence gave some spiritual and administrative advice which was inspired from the reading of St. Paul's epistle, emphasizing the important role which a priest plays in the life of the parishioners. He stressed that a priest should love his church and walk according to the word of Lord, to be able to transfer the richness of the word of God to the faithful, encouraging them to be example to their faithful and continue caring for the spiritual benefits of their parishes by showing them the path to the heavenly kingdom through the words of the Lord and the best personal conduct.
Then the clergy expressed their happiness with the large number of the attendees’ faithful in these spiritual season, occasions of Palm Sunday, Naheere, passion week’s events, and Resurrection of the Lord, explaining their church situation.
His Eminence explained to the clergy that the St. Peter parishioners bought a physical building to be their worship place. Everyone was pleased with this good news. Rev. Fr. John Saif also declared, as good news, that by the efforts of the Parish Council of St. Elias Church they have found a church to purchase, but the matter is still in discussion.
Lunch was then served for all clergy, and it was graciously donated by St. George Church. After lunch the clergy continued their agenda.
Rev. Fr. George Touma invited all clergy of the Archdiocese to attend his elevation to the Archpriest (Khooroyo) rank, which will be celebrated on Saturday October 15th 2011, @ 5:00 pm, at St. Mary Church, Orange.
Rev. Fr. John Saif also invited the clergy to participate in St. Elias’ happy event, the ordination of deacons and deaconesses on Sunday May 1st @ 2:00 pm.
His Eminence stated that there is a need for churches in Dallas, Texas; Sacramento, CA; Ventura, CA and Porterville, Ca
The meeting concluded with final remarks about the services and prayers made by His Eminence.
We extend our gratitude to St. George Church for hosting the meeting. The next Clergy meeting will be held in Las Vegas on Tuesday, May 31st 2011 and will be hosted by St. John the apostle parishioners.

إفتتح الاجتماع نيافة الحبر الجليل بصلاةٍ
داعيا الروح القدس ليبارك المجتمعين ويلهمهم كل ما فيه خير كنائسهم
وليحفظ الرب القائم من القبر سائر أبناء الكنيسة، ثم قرأ الاب بطرس ربز
الفصل المخصص من الانجيل وكان من رسالة مار بولس الرسول الى أهل كولوسي
3: 1 - 18 ولقد شرح نيافته معاني هذا الفصل الذي خصصه الرسول بولس على
حياة الكاهن والمؤمنين وبأنه يحثنا أن نُشبع أنفسنا بالايمان ونحاول أن
تكون رسالتنا الكهنوتية مشبعة هي الاخرى بالروحانيات لنخدم الرعية باخلاص
تنفيذاً لوصايا الرب يسوع المسيح.
وهنا طلب نيافته من الاباء الكهنة كلٌ
بمفرده بتقديم تقرير عن نشاطات الكنائس روحياً واجتماعياً الذين أكدوا
لنيافته بكثافة حضور المؤمنين بهذه المناسبات وبالايمان والتقوى وكانت
الفرحة والاغتباط الروحي يغمران قلوب الجميع.
وتدارس الاباء بارشاد نيافته جدول الاعمال
المُعَدّ بنداً بنداً وبالتفصيل وأُتخذت جملة قرارت هامة منها:
1-
ستستضيف رعية كنيسة مار يوحنا في لاس فيجاس الاجتماع الخامس في
31-5-2011.
2-
سيحتفل نيافة الحبر الجليل بتاريخ 15 تشرين الأول 2011 باقامة الذبيحة الالهية في
كنيسة السيدة العذراء في مدينة أورنج كاونتي وخلال القداس سيرقي نيافته
كاهن الرعية الاب جورج توما الى درجة الخوري

وذلك في تمام الساعة الخامسة مساءً.
3-
تحدث نيافته عن رعية القديس بطرس في مدينة جلندورا وعن شرائها كنيسة ولقد
فرح الاباء الكهنة بهذا الحدث التاريخي داعين لهذه الرعية بالنجاح
والازدهار.
4-
ذكَّر نيافته الاباء الكهنة بالقداس الالهي يوم الاحد القادم في كنيسة
القديس مار الياس في تمام الساعة الثانية بعد الظهر حيث ستتم رسامة
شمامسة وشماسات للكنيسة .
5-
شرح نيافته عن نيته وبناء على رغبة ابناء الطائفة بتأسيس كنائس في كلٍ من
ساكرامنتو، دالاس، فانتورا، فانكوفر وسيزور نيافته أبناء الطائفة
المتواجدين في هذه المدن.
وبعد أن تكلم نيافته عن بعض الأمور التي تخص واجبات الكهنة الروحية صلى
مع الآباء الكهنة معلناً ختام هذا الاجتماع، شاكراً الكنيسة المضيفة
وراعيها على حسن ولياقة ضيافتها .
