Archdiocese Sunday School Staff Camp Meeting
Many Sunday School Camp Staff Leaders met on Thursday, June 2nd in the evening at St. Peter Church, San Dimas for final organization and preparation of the upcoming annual Archdiocese Sunday School Camp. This year the camp will be held on June 17 - 19th at Camp Maranatha in the city of Idyllwild, with 200 adults and children participating and encompassing 5 churches.
The meeting began with prayers led by Rev. Fr. Peter Rouboz and Rev. Fr. John Saif, and attending camp staff leaders from all 5 churches were: Patricia Allaf, Irin Simon, Bartela Murad, Sophia Allaf, Gabriel Shain, Charles Askar, Jennifer Salhab, Amalee Ghrier, Nora Jabri, and Nadeen Rouboz. Items of discussion were the following: camp schedule for the 3 days,Bible Studies, leader's responsibilities, rules and consequences, cabin arrangements, as well as the fun activities.
Everyone is looking forward to Camp this year which is entitled "CAMP E.D.G.E -- Experiencing and Discovering God Everywhere" based on the Gospel of Mark. It was a very informational and beneficial meeting to make the 2011 Archdiocese Camp a very organized and memorable weekend.

The Western Archdiocese of the Syriac Orthodox Church of Antioch,
providing spiritual guidance and leadership to the Syriac Orthodox
community, is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit, tax-exempt organization
comprised of 10 churches and parishes in 17 western states. It was
established in 1952 as the Archdiocese of the Syrian Orthodox Church
encompassing the entire United States and Canada. In November 1995 by
the Holy Synod, the Western Archdiocese was formed to exclusively
serve the 17 states of the western half United States.
