 His Eminence Archbishop Eugene welcoming
Most Rev. Bishop Mar Awa Royel
On Saturday evening, July 1st, His Eminence Mor Clemis Eugene Kaplan Archbishop of the Western US, received at his Archdiocesan Headquarters Most Rev. Mar Awa Royel, Bishop of the Assyrian Church of the East of the Diocese of California,
with two accompanying clergy. His Eminence Mor Cyril Ephram Karim Archbishop of the Eastern US Syriac Orthodox Diocese also attended.
The three prelates had a blessed and vital discussion about the common history, nationality, culture, tradition, and language of both the Syriac Orthodox Church of Antioch and Assyrian Church of the East, and their relationship in today's world. Both churches are also hosting their Youth conventions at the same time, and there was an imperative discussion regarding the challenges and difficulties of the youth in the Diaspora.
It was a blessed and fruitful brotherly spiritual meeting.

في دار المطرانية صاحب النيافة مار آوا رويال مطران الكنيسة الشرقية
الآشورية لابرشية كاليفورنيا برفقة إثنين من كهنته. وكان نيافة مار
قوريلوس أفرام كريم مطران شرقي الولايات المتحدة حاضراً هذا اللقاء.
ولقد كان هذا اللقاء الاخوي معبراً عن مشاعر الأخوة المسيحية حيث تطرقت
الأحاديث عن العلاقات الوثيقة التي تربط هاتين الكنيستين السريانية
الأرثوذكسية والاشورية الشرقية تاريخيا وثقافيا وقوميا ولغويا والعلاقة
المتينة التي تربط الكنستين في عالمنا اليوم. علماً أن الكنيستين ينعقد
فيهما مؤتمراً للشبيبة في نفس الوقت، هذا وقد بُحثت الصعوبات والتحديات
التي تواجه عالم الشبيبة.
وبالإجماع كان اللقاء مثمراً بعناوينه الكبيرة عن المحبة وضرورة اللحمة
بين الكنيستين لما فيه مجد الرب وازدهار الكلمة.
