Eminence blessed the home which will be used as the classrooms
for the Sunday School
His Eminence celebrates Divine Liturgy and Sunday School Day at St. George Church,
assisted by the church priest Rev. Fr. Peter Rouboz.
St. George Church (San Fernando) had a special day on Sunday, August 21st with the Divine Liturgy celebrated by His Eminence Mor Clemis Eugene Kaplan along with registration and special activities for the Sunday School children. During the sermon His Eminence stressed the importance of parents bringing their children to church every Sunday. His Eminence spoke about the importance of religious education within the home and church, telling the children that church is God's house and Jesus loves them all to come to His house all the time. After the Liturgy His Eminence along with Board members and the church choir visited the newly purchased adjacent home to the church.
His Eminence blessed the home which will be used as the classrooms for
the Sunday School.
In the social hall everyone was welcomed and there was a luncheon which was deliciously prepared by the Ladies Auxiliary. Numerous faithful had donated items for the luncheon and
Parish Council Vice President, Nadim Samaan thanked everyone for their contributions.
Rev. Fr. Peter Rouboz and Nadim Samaan also expressed to the families to bring their kids every Sunday to church to learn the word of God and be an active part of the church. Sunday School teachers, Georgina Mubarakeh and Mona Hanoun also introduced themselves and are happy with the opportunity to serve as teachers. Patricia Allaf, Archdiocese Director, thanked St. George Church for their wonderful effort in preparing for the Registration Day and hopes for their program to be a great success.
There were about 50 children who registered on Sunday and enjoyed good food, a jumper, sweets, ice-cream, and special backpacks donated by Nadim Samaan's daughter. It was a wonderful way to start the Sunday School Program and enjoy the children of the church. May God bless everyone who assisted on this joyous day.
الاحتفال بالذبيحة الالهية في يوم افتتاح المدرسة الأحدية...
كان يوما فريداً من نوعه لرعية كنيسة مار جرجس حيث احتفل نيافة الحبر
الجليل مار إقليميس أوكين بالاحتفال بالذبيحة الالهية وعاونه كاهن الرعية
الاب بطرس ربوز وارتجل نيافته وباللغتين العربية والانكليزية كلمة
توجيهية عامة لابناء الكنيسة وللاطفال المنتسبين حديثا للمدرسة الاحدية
وحث نيافته بكلمته أولياء الاطفال بوجوب الالتزام بجلب أولادهم في
الاوقات والايام المحددة لتدريسهم وإعطائهم الاهتمام والعناية الكاملة
ليكون لهم مستقبلا وآدابا روحية جنبا الى جنب مع تربية أوليائهم لهم في
البيت وهكذا يكون دور الكنيسة فعالاً.
ثم طلب كاهن الرعية مع المجلس الملي من نيافته التوجه الى البيت الجديد
المجاور للكنيسة والذي اشترته حديثا ليكون صفوفا للمدرسة الحديثة ضمن
برامج مدروسة وموضوعة مسبقا بهمة ورعاية مُنَسِّقة برامج المدارس الاحدية
في الولايات المتحدة وكندا السيدة باتريشيا علاف التي كانت دُعيت لهذا
الاحتفال والتي تعمل ضمن إرشادات نيافته وتوجيهاته في شتى كنائس
الابرشيات وبخاصة في ابرشية غربي الولايات المتحدة. وصلى نيافته مباركا
البيت الجديد طالبا من الرب أن يجعله مكانا لتمجيد اسمه من خلال تثقيف
الاطفال شاكرا المجلس الملي والمعلمات المتبرعات بالتعليم والاهتمام
بالمدرسة الاحدية وهن: جورجينا مباركه، منى حنون، وماري حصري.
وهنا دعا كاهن الرعية والمجلس الملي وجمعية السيدات صاحب النيافة الى
طعام الغداء حيث جلس نيافته يستقبل الجميع بوداعته المعهودة وابتسامته
التي تنمُّ عن فرحه وسروره بابنائه داعيا لتوفيقهم مبديا استعداده لايَّة
مساعدة قد يحتاجون اليها. ولقد رحب السيد نديم سمعان نائب رئيس المجلس
بحضور نيافته ومباركته لابناء الرعية ولمشروع المدرسة الاحدية. علما ان
الاهالي قاموا بتسجيل اولادهم الذين تجاوز عددهم الخمسين، هذا وقدمت
الانسة نلسن ابنة السيد نديم سمعان جملة هدايا تشجيعاً منها لطلبة
المدرسة الاحدية. وغادر نيافته مسروراً ومباركاً بهذه المبادرة التاريخية
بتأسيس المدرسة الاحدية في هذه الرعية بشكل منظم.
