 New Church in Western Archdiocese US
Under the auspices of His Eminence Mor Clemis Eugene Kaplan, Archbishop of the US Western Archdiocese, our zealous and enthusiastic faithful of San Bernardino County begin to gather the Syriac people in the area to establish a community for the future church. And by their efforts on Sunday May 2nd , His Eminence celebrated the first Divine Liturgy, entitling the church name of
“Mor Elias the Prophet” of San Bernardino County.
 During the ceremony His Eminence gave thanks to God the Father who blessed the faithful community of San Bernardino to start the parish and also thanked all those who worked hard for their efforts in establishing the new church. His Eminence appointed Rev. Fr. John Saif to serve this community.
Many faithful of other churches shared the joyful blessed occasion of this grand opening of the new church: Rev. Fr. Mtanos Askar of St. Julian, High Desert, participated in the Divine Liturgy with the choir of his church, as well as many deacons and faithful of other churches.
The Western Archdiocesan Scout members participated
in the spiritual occasion of the newly established parish of
St. Elias with joyful Syriac rhythms that pleased the audience. God
bless them and the
Endeavor of their leaders.
Following the church ceremony, a light luncheon was held in celebration of this event at the hall of St. George Antiochian Orthodox church. Everyone enjoyed this blessed event and the celebration.
كنيسة جديدة في أبرشية
غربي الولايات المتحدة
برعاية صاحب النيافة مار اقليميس يوجين
قبلان، مطران أبرشية غربي الولايات المتحدة، وبهمة نخبة من المؤمنين
المتحمسين لمحافظة سان بيرناردينو، احتفل نيافته بأول قداس إلهي لهذه
الرعية
المستحدثة
التي منحها نيافته اسم كنيسة "مار الياس النبي" لمقاطعة سان بيرناردينو.
لتكون نواة كنيسة مستقبلية لمؤمني هذه المنطقة .
وخلال الذبيحة الالهية شكر نيافته جميع من عمل بجد وحماس وتعب لأجل تأسيس
هذه الرعية الجديدة في أبرشية غربي الولايات المتحدة، وأسهم
بانجاح تكوين هذه الرعية. هذا
وبعد توصيات نيافته عيّن الأب الفاضل القس جان سيف كاهناً رسمياً ليخدم
هذه الرعية .
وتبلغ العائلات السريانية التي تسكن هذه المنطقة أكثر من 300 عائلة،
ألف مبروك .
شارك في بهجة ذبيحة الافتتاحية هذه العديد من أبناء كنائس الأبرشية
مؤمنين وشمامسة،
بحيث لم تتسع الكنيسة ولا فنائها الخارجي لاعداد المؤمنين الوافدين
اليها، وعند انتهاء القداس تعالت زغاريد النسوة معلنة فرحتهن بالكنيسة
الجديدة بعد سنوات من الانتظار.
وقد زيّن بهجة هذا الاحتفال الروحي كشاف الأبرشية السرياني الذي
أبى إلا أن يشارك مؤمني هذه الرعية الحديثة فرحتهم بأنغام سريانية شنفت
آذان الحضور، بارك الله فيهم وبهمة قياديهم الأفاضل .
وبعد الانتهاء من القداس الالهي انتقل الجميع الى قاعة كنيسة الشهيد مار
جرجس لكنيسة الروم الأرثوذكس لتناول الغداء الذي عد لهذه المناسبة
المباركة .
