His Eminence paying pastoral visit to St. John the Apostle, NV

October,23 2015

Caring for the church of God and its members, His Eminence Archbishop Mor Clemis Eugene Kaplan, paid pastoral visit to St. John congregation in Las Vegas, NV.

During his pastoral visit, his Eminence Archbishop Kaplan celebrated the Divine Liturgy on Sunday October 18th, and ordained two faithful to serve the altar, Paul Nebras Alhanoush as Chanter (Mzamrono), and Hani Shamoon as Sub-Deacon (Afudyaqno), and in his sermon the Archbishop encouraged the faithful to hold firmly of their faith especially in these days of tribulation and many temptations could hold the faithful away from God and their church.

Following to the Divine Liturgy, in the honoring of His Eminence, the generous food was prepared by the Ladies Auxiliary of St. John to all the attendees.

The Western Archdiocese of the Syriac Orthodox Church of Antioch, providing spiritual guidance and leadership to the Syriac Orthodox community, is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit, tax-exempt organization comprised of 18 churches and parishes in 17 western states. It was established in 1952 as the Archdiocese of the Syrian Orthodox Church encompassing the entire United States and Canada. In November 1995 by the Holy Synod, the Western Archdiocese was formed to exclusively serve the 17 states of the western half United States.
